Fixing common issues
Prototype runs, exports, login, AI chat, collaboration and share links — most issues are solved right here.

Troubleshooting
Landed here because something looks off or won't work? Take a breath — almost everything on this page is a brief hiccup, not a breakage, and a few clicks usually sets it right. Follow along at your own pace.
You didn't break anything by clicking the wrong thing. Your work is saved automatically and synced in real time, so reloading or re-running never throws your content away.
First things to try
Whatever the problem, try these three things in order before you reach out. Most issues clear up right here.
Reload the project.
Press your browser's reload button, or F5 (⌘R on Mac). This is the single most effective fix when the screen looks blank or frozen.
Check your network connection.
Dropped or slow Wi-Fi can make saving, syncing, or AI replies look stuck. Quickly check whether another website loads.
Check your plan limits.
There are limits on how many projects you have, how many prototypes run at once, and how many exports you get per month. Hitting a limit can make a button look blocked — see Plans & pricing.
A handy mantra when you're in a hurry: reload → check internet → check plan. That order alone clears most problems.
Fixes by situation
The screen is blank, or nothing is showing.
This is the most common one, and a single reload fixes it almost every time. Hit the browser reload button or press F5 (⌘R on Mac). If it stays blank, check your internet and reopen it in a moment. Your work is saved, so there's nothing to lose by refreshing.
I can't tell if my work saved — I don't see a save button.
There's no save button to press — nidavellir saves automatically as you type and syncs to the cloud. That's why your latest work is still there after a reload or when you open it on another device. If you want peace of mind, reload and see for yourself that it's all still there.
The prototype won't run, or a "restart needed" badge is showing.
The prototype runs in an isolated container and you start it with ⌘R. If you changed the prototype after its last run, a "restart needed" badge appears — press ⌘R again to run the fresh version. If it errors, check the prototype's files (you can ask the AI to fix them in chat) and re-run. Idle prototypes auto-stop after a while; when that happens, just press ⌘R to run it again.
The prototype shows a red error. Can I fix it without knowing code?
Yes — you don't need to know code. When an error appears, open the AI chat (⌘J) and say "the prototype is erroring, please fix it." Pasting the exact error message in helps it fix things more precisely. After the AI edits the files, run it again with ⌘R. See "Ask the AI to fix prototype errors" below for copy-ready phrases.
My export looks wrong, or exporting is blocked.
Run exports from ⌘K (proposal → docx/hwpx/pdf, deck → pptx/pdf, whole project → static-site .zip). If the result looks off, try again or export a different format. The Free plan caps exports at 10 per month and adds a watermark — both are removed on Pro and Team. See Plans & pricing for details.
My exported file has a watermark. Can I remove it?
The watermark is a mark that the Free plan adds automatically — it doesn't mean the file is broken. Upgrading to Pro or Team removes the watermark and lifts the 10-per-month export cap. See Plans & pricing to upgrade.
Google sign-in isn't working.
nidavellir supports Google sign-in only — there is no separate password. If sign-in fails, allow third-party cookies and pop-ups in your browser and try again. If you are in an incognito/private window, retry in a normal window instead.
The AI chat seems stuck.
The AI chat (⌘J) streams its answer, and you can cancel your own in-flight request at any time. If it looks stuck, cancel and retry, or reload the project. Very large requests take longer because the model thinks more deeply (adaptive thinking), so a short wait can also help.
Everything feels slow and takes a long time to load.
First check your internet — slow Wi-Fi is the usual culprit. Big projects and long AI requests naturally take a little longer. If you have a lot of browser tabs open, close a few and reload the project. If it's still slow, it's worth trying again a bit later.
A teammate's changes aren't showing up for me.
Collaboration syncs in real time. If a teammate's edits are missing, open the member list with ⌘⇧M to confirm they are actually a member of the project, then reload the project. These two steps resolve it in almost every case.
My share link has expired.
Toggle the read-only share link with ⌘⇧S. On the Free plan links expire after 24 hours — re-toggle sharing with ⌘⇧S to refresh the link. Pro removes the expiry, so the link stays valid.
I think I deleted something by accident. Can I get it back?
Don't panic. If you just typed it, undo (⌘Z) usually brings it right back. If you've already moved on, you can ask the AI chat (⌘J) to "recreate the part I just deleted." And on a team project, a collaborator may still have it on their screen — it's worth asking them.
Shortcuts aren't working, or a tab is missing.
If a shortcut doesn't respond, first click once inside the project canvas (not a text field) to give it focus. If that doesn't help, a reload is the surest fix. You can also move between tabs with ⌘1–⌘0 (knowledge base, research, concept, branding, spec, proposal, deck, prototype, video, kanban — in that order). Model and Website have no digit, so find those with ⌘K. When you can't recall a command, press ⌘K and search the command palette by name.
Ask the AI to fix prototype errors
Phrases you can drop straight into the AI chat (⌘J) when a prototype errors. Copy one in, and after the AI edits the files, re-run with ⌘R.
Hand over the error
“The prototype is throwing this error: [paste the error message]. Please find the cause and fix it.”
When nothing renders
“I ran the prototype but the screen is empty. Check what went wrong and fix it.”
After a fix
“Tidy it up so it runs cleanly after your fix, and tell me if any errors remain.”
Plain-language glossary
Reload (refresh)
Loading the page again — via the browser reload button or F5 (⌘R on Mac). It's the first thing to try when the screen looks stuck.
Prototype
A clickable, working version of your product. It runs on its own in an isolated space; start it with ⌘R.
"Restart needed" badge
A note that you changed the prototype since it last ran. It's not an error — it just means press ⌘R to run the fresh version.
Streaming
How the AI shows its answer live, word by word, instead of all at once. If text is still appearing, it's still thinking.
Watermark
The faint mark added to files exported on the Free plan. It goes away on Pro and Team.
Plan limits
The usage each plan allows — project count, concurrent prototype runs, monthly exports, and so on. Reaching a limit can make some buttons look blocked.
Run / restart the prototype
Export / command palette
AI chat (cancel & retry)
Open the member list
Toggle the share link
The shortcuts you reach for most while troubleshooting.
Don't worry if these shortcuts feel unfamiliar. Everything is available as an on-screen button too, and pressing ⌘K lets you find any command by name.
