Export & Share
If you already have a document, there’s no need to start over — just “import” it. Importing means bringing a file from your computer into nidavellir so you can keep working on it here. Importing runs from the Edit category in the command palette (⌘K).

The three steps of importing — choose the command, pick a file, then edit or let the AI restructure.
What imports where
Into the proposal: bring in .docx, .hwpx, .pdf, .md, .pptx and .xlsx files.
Into the deck: bring in a .pptx file as your deck.
Imported content is not frozen like an image — it becomes fully editable. From there you can ask the AI in chat to reshape it, e.g. “restructure this into three sections”.
After importing, try asking the AI
Once the import finishes, just say something like this in chat (⌘J). Feel free to copy these word-for-word.
Reshape
“Restructure this into three sections: Problem, Solution, Expected impact.”
Shorten
“Summarize the long paragraphs down to just the key points.”
To slides
“Turn this proposal into deck slides.”
Note: very complex layouts (intricate table designs, unusual shape placement) may be simplified during import. Just skim the result afterwards and tidy up anything that looks off.
Is the original formatting preserved when I import?
Core structure like text, lists and tables comes across as editable content. Very complex layouts may be simplified, so we recommend tidying up by hand or with the AI after importing.
Can I export it back to a file afterwards?
Yes. When you’re done editing, use Export to save it back out as .docx, .hwpx, .pptx, PDF and more.
